Atopic dermatitis and other Dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis or eczema is a condition that makes the skin red and itchy. It's common in children but can eventuate at any age. Atopic dermatitis is chronic and tends to explode periodically. It may be associated with asthma or hay fever. Healthy skin helps reserve moisture and defends us from bacteria, irritants and allergens. Eczema is associated to a gene variation that affects the skin's ability to provide this protection. This allows your skin to be influenced by environmental factors, irritants and allergens.
